Limited edition plate illustrated with an image of a smiling circus clown. Glazed earthenware, Italian, ca. 1950
Physical description
Glazed earthenware plate featuring an underglaze central image of the head of a clown wearing a conical maroon hat and a blue ruff around his neck dotted in yellow, blue and maroon. The smiling face of the clown is stylised with round eyes and button nose, and the rim of the plate is decorated with a turquoise line.
