Four square fluted legs tenoned into the four rails of the table top which are in turn probably finger-jointed into each other; a wooden support baton is tenoned diagonally into the top of each leg and then screwed up into the underside of the table top. The table top is very thinly veneered with thin strips of dark wood on a paler ground (2 along the length and 3 across the breadth of the table top) creating a symmetrical 12 square grid design.
