Dressing Table

1970 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Cylindrical compact dressing table in plywood with two hinged sections which swing out to reveal a storage space and built-in seat with a round, black, leather cushion. The cushion is detachable.
Under the lid on the top of the dressing table are two removable plastic inlay trays, one with two compartments and one with a single compartment. The underside of the lid is mirrored.
Under the seat cushion is another detachable disc of plywood making the support for the seat. Beneath the seat is another storage section, at the bottom of which are two plywood semi-circular pieces which act as extra balancing weights in the base for when both hinged sections are swung fully out.
The dressing table has been painted white and the hinge is not visible, having been concealed behind a ridged section of plywood that runs down the full length of the inside.
The whole rests on three plywood circular feet which raise the object approximately 1.5 inches above the floor.
