Object history | Bought for £100 from Mr George R. Harding, 18 St James’ Square, S.W. Authority for purchase – Lord Londonderry’s on R. P. S. 85669/1904 on 28/06/1904 for £100. ‘Much worn, wormeaten; pieces missing’. Museum referees Walter Crane and T.G. Jackson 'strongly recommended for purchase, being finer than the one in the Museum; the ironwork is very beautfiul, and it is most valuable to have the mounts in their original positions...' |
