Gary Page was the chief designer at British fashion label Red or Dead, created in the early 1980s by Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway. Their philosophy was to provide innovative, high fashion at affordable prices. This sunflower print was designed to enhance sophisticated eveningwear. The motif was chosen purely for its visual impact without any subliminal message, taking inspiration from the simple pleasures of life.

'The sunflowers are lovely, they sum up summer, its not complicated or deep, its just nice' said Wayne Hemingway.
