Physical description
Copy of the costume design by Wilhelm (1858-1925) for 'Princess Ida' in Act I of the original production of Princess Ida, at the Savoy Theatre, 1884. The design is executed in watercolour on card. It features a full length profile image of a man wearing doublet, hose and a sleeveless gown in tones of red and gold. He is also wearing a Tudor style 'bonnet' edged with fur and decorated with a yellow feather. His right arm is outstretched and he is holding the top of a narrow, brown, cane in his left hand.
