Physical description
Costume design by James Wade for 'Courtier' in Act I of a production of Princess Ida, at the Savoy Theatre, 1954. The design is executed in watercolour and pencil and features a front and side view of two painted leather thigh boots in different tones of blue. Two pieces of fabric, one a fine deep green wool and the other a black silk have been secured to the design using sellotape.
