Physical description | Watercolour and bodycolour over pencil on card. Originally designed for a member of the Chorus, it was used for the character Martha. She is wearing a black bodice with silver-coloured buttons and trim, a rose-coloured cape with dark pink trim and a silver-coloured ribbon at the back, white blouse, rose-coloured skirt with dark pink and silver-coloured trim, and a black bonnet with a dark pink ribbon. She is holding a pink and green fabric garland. There is an inset sketch of the back of the cape and fabric samples attached. |
