Object history
This table was made for Miss Valerie Cooper, a teacher of movement, for her studio at 8 Fitzroy Street, London. It was possibly originally painted black. In 1940 the studio was bombed and Miss Cooper moved to another address in London and later to Richmond. It was purchased by the V&A from Dr Violet MacDermott in 1977 (RF 77/560).
