Physical description | Two sheets of cream paper with sections of fabric pinned to them, these samples are connected with costume designs that Peter Goffin produced for characters in The Gondoliers, Princes Theatre, 1958. The two sheets are secured to one another with a pin in the top left hand corner. Two sample of material are pinned to the first sheet, the first, a blue and white striped glazed cotton, the second a mustard yellow wool. On the second sheet, are three scraps of ribbed silk, in tones of yellow and grey, and a further section of dark blue wool. Both sheets are covered with handwritten annotation in pencil and biro. The samples of material are connected with the costumes of the Duchess (Act I), Casilda (Act I), Duke (Act II), Luiz (Act II), Kings (Act II) and Casila (Act II) Cloak. |
