Gilbert (1836-1911), ca.1874. The photograph features a scene in which the two figures are positioned either side of a sundial. W.H. Kendal is shown in profile and is positioned at the right side of the image, behind, and leaning on, the sundial. His gaze is directed towards his wife who is positioned to the left of the sundial. Her left hand is resting on the top of the sundial, whilst her gaze is directed downwards towards the gloves she is holding in her right hand. |
