Physical description | Print entitled 'Juliet and the Nurse' showing a scene from Romeo and Juliet. The print features three full length figures, two female, one, a young boy. The young boy is positioned at the far left, towards the edge of the scene, he is holding the train of the nurse's skirt in his left hand and a feather trimmed fan in his right hand. The nurse is positioned at the centre of the image, she is shown wearing a cap with long 'lappets' and is resting her hands on the handle of a walking stick/cane. She is leaning her body slightly towards Juliet, who is positioned at the right, and shown in profile, her hands clasped together and held up, gesturing towards her heart. Stone pillars and a flight of stone steps are visible in the background. |
