The print features a scene for Act 1, Scene 2 in The Maid of the Mill. The print depicts a man wearing a shirt, neckerchief, hat, and brandishing a stick. On his right is a woman dressed in dark-coloured clothing with her back turned towards him. Behind them is a woman sitting and reading in the window of the house. There is a printed border that depicts trees and foliage and an urn.
