A silver necklace made up of two tiers of foil-backed glass-set elements linked together with silver chains. The individual decorative units are made of shaped silver back plates onto which are fused bezels set with pieces of colourless glass backed in gold or red foil. There is an additional large central pendant with a crescent shape motif. A series of looped chains are suspended from this and the lower tier of ornamental elements. The decorative units hang from a double silver chain which has a cluster of grelots suspended from its centre.

Object history
This necklace is part of the large donation of Indian folk jewellery from Dr Waltraud Ganguly which was collected over the last few decades before her death in 2015 from dealers in both India and Europe, in parallel with extensive fieldwork she carried out in the Indian Sub-Continent. It was purchased from Amrapali, Jaipur in November 2012 for 295 Euros.
