This design is one of ten of Peasant Women, Russian Dancers and Youths in the opera-ballet Le Coq d'Or by Rimsky-Korsakov, first produced at the Théâtre National de l'Opera, Paris, 24 May 1914.
Purchased from the artist in 1961.
