Gordon Baldwin (born 1932) ‘Vessel from a Quartet II’ 2004–5 A sense of rhythm and movement is immediately apparent in this sculptural vessel. Its curving section is reminiscent of musical notation, while its title also hints at a relationship with music. Such metaphorical associations are a feature of Gordon Baldwin’s work, in which form and painterly surface are united in poetic sculptural expression.
