This ensemble by Abraham and Thakore consists of trousers and belted tunic with a loose jacket. The monotone aesthetic, simple cut and use of handloom fabric is very typical of the designers' work and is an example of the way in which Indian designers are adapting traditional dress for a contemporary environment. This is Abraham and Thakore's interpretation of the traditional shalwar/churidar (trouser) and kameez/kurta (top) combinations which have become a standard form of dress across India.

Physical description
This shalwar khameez ensemble incorporates a tunic, matching coat, trousers and belt. Designed by Abraham & Thakore, it has a clean, contemporary aesthetic, using monotone colours and a simple cut. The tunic and coat are made with handwoven, naturally-coloured tasar silk, while the trousers are made from mulberry silk.
