Sophia Webster studied footwear design at Cordwainers College at the Royal College of Art. Upon graduating she worked as Nicholas Kirkwood's design assistant, before launching her own range of shoes in Spring 2013. Named for the popular singer Rhianna, the peep-toe and distinctive beaded heel of ‘Riri’ firmly established Webster as one of the UK’s most influential emerging footwear designers.

Webster made this presentation drawing of her ‘Riri’ shoe design specifically for the catalogue accompanying the V&A’s exhibition ‘Shoes: Pleasure and Pain.’
