Cup made from the inverted upper section of a human skull set in copper straps, Tibet, 19th century
Physical description
Cup made from the inverted upper section of a human skull set in copper straps and rim and raised on a copper foot. Each of the four straps is chased with two dorjes and the letters Om or Ah. The domed copper cover is decorated with a cast brass dorje terminal. Artificial turquoises decorate the copper straps and rim of the vessel.
