Physical description
Lithograph depicting a demobilized French soldier in civilian clothes, yet retaining his army helmet, standing in a field with a spade and a pick-axe to his right. He carries a sledgehammer in his right hand and an oversized crowing cockerel sits upon his left shoulder. Signed on the plate with the artist's name and lettered with title and caption.
