Physical description

Political poster depicting three male figures, the central figure as John Bull (the personification of Great Britain, particularly England), wearing a Union Jack waistcoat and black top hat. He is carrying a stick and seizes the hand of David Lloyd-George, who holds a knife poised to attack and wears a hat with a target on the side. On the blade of the knife is the word 'Budget'. Behind the robust figure of John Bull in the centre is a third male figure wearing a blue waistcoat and trousers, over which he wears an apron reading 'Licensed Trade'. On the ground between the three is a gun with the words 'Licensing Bill 1908' on the side, and at the bottom is lettered 'Bandit: "Missed Fire! But no matter - take that!". John Bull: "I'll have that fair play. Drop it!"'. Lettered at the bottom with the name and address of the printers.
