Yogi Bear

Video Game
1987 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

The creators of this game were the first to licence the Yogi Bear character from Hanna-Barbera productions. In the game, Yogi must be guided through the multiple screens, avoiding traps and park rangers, on a quest to rescue Boo Boo. There is a danger of falling asleep as the year goes on, as it is nearly time to hibernate. Health can be replenished from picnic baskets. Hanna-Barbera stipulated that Yogi was not allowed to kill or be killed during gameplay, so technically it is the player's lives which are lost, not the bear's. To avoid enemies, Yogi could turn into a bush.
