Ink 6

Sculpture
2005 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

This object was the first of the artist's 'Ink series' (2004-2006), where the artist used glass as a medium to explore the visual effects of ink brush painting techniques. The visual effect is reminiscent of calligraphic strokes produced by black ink applied on xuan paper. The shape of the glass also resembles a cut section of a bamboo, another material close to the aesthetic ideals of the Chinese scholar.
