Costume design by Leslie Hurry four men in William Shakespeare's Hamlet by the Royal Shakespeare Company 1961.

Leslie Hurry designed the sets and costumes for Hamlet by William Shakespeare directed by Peter Wood for the Royal Shakespeare Theatre 11 April 1961. The Production was lit by John Wyckham.

Further costume designs for Hamlet featured in the souvenir programme for the 1961 season by the Royal Shakespeare Company at Stratford-upon-Avon confirm the very colourful nature of the costumes for this production.
For the Daily Mail 12 April 1961 this production lacked ‘size and stature, and one is left to admire some splendid sword fighting, some fragments or ghostly music by Alan Rawsthorne, and a typical Leslie Hurry setting, fragmentary arches richly hung with draperies, shot through with gold that was missing elsewhere and for the Daily Telegraph Leslie Hurry’s settings lent’ a brooding atmosphere of sombre magnificence to the proceedings’.
