Object history
An almost identical drawing by David Cox is in the Corporation Art Gallery in Birmingham, and is reproduced in A. J. Finberg's 'Drawings of David Cox', 1909, Plate II. The point of view is almost exactly the same and the shadows almost coincide. This drawing is possibly a copy of a finished drawing by Cox after the sketch at Birmingham.
