First assembling for Tony Zwicker : a collection of otherwise unpublishable manuscripts

Artist's Book
1999 (published)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

This artist's book contains a set of A4 sized 'pages' in various formats; drawings, collages, photocopies, photographs, signed prints and other ephemera. These pages were contributed by ninety-nine artists and gathered as a tribute to Zwicker, a dealer and curator specialising in artists' books, on the occasion of her retirement in 1999.

Each artist was asked to make one hundred and fifty copies of their 'page' which were then collated into one hundred and fifty copies of a 'festscrift' - a book honouring a respected academic.

The loose pages are gathered in a box, and are as varied as the artists who have created them - a simple ink handprint, a colourful collaged flower, a piece of pale blue card punched with a small hole - but all of them convey the respect and affection the artists held for Tony Zwicker.
