Photographic print of the actress Margaret Sharman, stage name Perlita Neilson (b.1933) as she appeared in a production of Heartbreak House, the original image was taken by the photographer Cecil Beaton (1904-1980) in 1961.
Margaret Sharman, acted under the name Perlita Neilson on both stage and screen. Sharman agreed to pose for the photographs during the run of the play, Heartbreak House: A Fantasia in the Russian Manner on English Themes by George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950) which was staged at Wyndhams Theatre in 1961.
Beaton presented Sharman with the prints, images of which also featured in Beaton's 1962 publication, Quail in Aspic. the Life Story of Count Charles Korsetz As Tape-Recorded to C. Beaton.
