Mezzotint print of an original pencil sketch with a handwritten caption reading 'Adelphi Theatre', it shows a court scene in which a series of women dressed in legal robes, but with witches hats, are presiding over the trial of an unindentified male figure, possibly Romeo or Hamlet. The jury consists of a series of characters from pantomimes, including Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and Jack and the Beanstalk. The sketch is not dated, circa last quarter of the nineteenth century.
