The American actress Pauline Starke (1901-1977) depicted on this music sheet cover made her debut in 1916 as a dancer in D.W. Griffith's film Intolerance and became a prominent silent film actress during the 1920s and early 1930s.

The melodramatic play The Shaughraun by Dion Boucicault on which the film My Wild Irish Rose was based was a great success after its initial production at Wallack's Theatre, New York in 1874.
