Marbles are one of the oldest known toys and are known to have been played with in the pre-Christian Rome. It is a simple toy, but one that has stood the test of time, going in and out of fashion throughout the ages.
Originally made in the late 19th century, these marbles were found on the banks of the River Thames by a professional 'Mudlark'. This set consists of two large and one small marbles, two of which are clear marbles and one is white.

Brief description | A set of three different sized and coloured marbles, made in England in the late 19th century. |
Physical description | These 3 marbles come in different sizes and colours. Two of them are fairly larger then the other one. One is clear green with white swirls inside it and the other one is white but not clear. The smaller one is clear and has swirls inside it. the surfaces are slighlty chippe and scratched. |
