Engraved portrait of the actress Mrs. Humphreys (1739-1783). It is a three quarter length portrait showing the actress in a simple, empire line dress with a shaped bodice and short sleeves. A translucent veil is pinned and draped to the rear of her head and she carries a book in her right hand.
