In this bold, simple and stylish fashion image Nick Knight used flash light to freeze the silhouette. In addition, tungsten light and a long exposure time produced the melting or blurring red colour within the shape. It was originally commissioned by Yohji Yamamoto for his Autumn/Winter 1987/8 collection advertisements but has been printed up at a large scale and framed also to be seen in a gallery context. Knight has remained at the forefront of fashion and commercial photography for the last ten years, challenging conventional notions of beauty and pushing the boundaries of fashion and art with creativity, innovative techniques and high production values.(2008-2009)
