This is an inkstand made in North Italy, in about 1500. This inkstand is in silvered and gilded copper and made of the reliefs, after plaquettes by the Coriolanus Master, representing The Life of Coriolanus.

Inkstand with scenes from The Life of Coriolanus. The reliefs, after plaquettes by the Coriolanus Master, represents the banishment of Coriolanus (left), Coriolanus leaving Rome and Coriolanus in battle before Rome (front), and Coriolanus reproached by his mother (right).
