Place of origin

From the late 1920s the patterns on meisen kimono became increasingly stylised and abstracted and in this exuberant design any adherence to traditional Japanese motifs has been abandoned. The woman who wore this garment would have appeared the dazzling epitome of urban, contemporary fashion.
