Silk programme on cream silk with faded dark blue typography on cream satin. Mounted in cream card frame with hand-painted watercolour Japanese figures. Produced for Richard D'Oyly Carte's Repertory Company's performance of The Mikado, Wigan New Royal Court Theatre, 7th August 1899. The names of the performers are credited, and the name of the mayor Mr J.T. Gee who was to be present, and the name of the architect Mr. John P. Briggs who remodelled the New Royal Court Theatre.

The cast for this performance by the D'Oyly Carte Repertoire Opera Company comprised Mr. Jones Hewson as The Mikado, Mr. Leon Graham as Nanki-Poo, Mr. C.H. Workman as Ko-Ko, Mr. Fred Billingham as Pooh-Bah, Mr. Albert Kavanagh as Pish-Tush, Miss Linda Carr as Yum-Yum, Miss Nancy Langtyre as Peep-Boo and Miss Lucie Caine as Katisha. The performance is noted as being under the patronage of the Mayor, Mr. J.T. Gee.
