This wallpaper is from a set of 25, depicting a hunting scene. The group of wallpapers form a panoramic panel. Wallpaper series such as these, imitating painted murals, were newly fashionable in the early 1800s. Like many wallpaper series, they were designed so they could be adapted for particular interiors or wall lengths. They were most often used in rooms used for entertaining, such as dining and reception rooms.
