Costume design for John Seward. The design depicts a full length male figure wearing an 1880's style costume adapted for ballet performance. The design consists of a mustard yellow jacket and trousers along with a light brown waistcoat and neck tie. Attached to the right of the figure are photocopies of contemporary fashions illustrations of the 1880's.Unsigned by the artist.

This costume design by Lez Brotherston is part of an extensive collection of designs donated to the Theatre Museum by the artist in 2002. The design was executed for a production of Michael Pink's ballet "Dracula" performed by Northern Ballet Theatre at the Bradford Alhambra Theatre on September 16th, 1996. The production, based on an original idea by Ken Russell after Bram Stoker's novel of the same name, was directed by Christopher Gable, composed by Philip Feeney, and lit by Paul Pyant. The production toured the country extensively, and was performed at Sadler's Wells in March 1999. The ballet has also entered the repertoire of the Atlanta Ballet, the Colorado Ballet, the Royal New Zealand Ballet, and the Norwegian National Ballet.
