Although he is best known as a sculptor, Darrell Viner (1947-2001) was also one of Britain’s most prolific computer artists in the mid-1970s. Born in Coventry, Viner studied at Hornsey College of Art and the Slade School of Fine Art, graduating with an MA in sculpture in 1976. As a student in the Slade's Experimental Department, he had extensive access to the University of London’s computer facilities and produced many plotter drawings.
