The American singer Lee White (1886-1927) became very successful in the UK after her first appearance in 1913. The 'song show' Back Again i which she starred opened at the Ambassadors' Theatre on 2nd September 1919 and was just the light and inconsequential concoction that was needed in 1919 as the country was beginning to recover from the effects of the Great War.
