Ben Hulse designed this poster for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games. The poster, shows one half of a maple leaf, Canada's iconic symbol, and was designed in conjunction with the poster for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Paralympic Games which has the other half of the leaf. This was the first time that the official Games poster could be paired together to make a whole.
Hulse drew on the 2010 'Look of the Games' which was inspired by the region's unique intersection of urban and natural environments, diverse cultures and North American West Coast aesthetics. He stencilled, inked and then photocopied illustrations over and over again to degenerate the image to give it the appearance of silk screen printing. Each element was done by hand at a 1:1 ratio before being digitally assembled on a white wood canvas.
