Machine-made silk lace Juliet cap, mounted on tulle, with two short lengths of tulle attached at the back; the lace on the cap is embroidered with faux pearls, opalescent beads and diamantes and decorated with a wreath of wax orange blossom buds; designed by Isobel, London, 1953

Object history note

This wedding cap with veil was worn by Anne Molineux for her wedding to lawyer Gordon Hodson. The wedding took place on 9 May 1953 at All Saits Sanderstead in Surrey. The bride also wore a a beaded lace wedding dress by Isobel, for whom she was a PA from about 1948-51.
