Portrait
About 1920
Mautner was born in Austria, but lived and worked in London. She took up photography when she discovered her uncle's camera. She went on to publish a photography guide and became an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society and lecturer in photography. The intricate lace bow worn by the sitter in this portrait creates an arresting study.
