On the left is a frog in a long coat, in the centre with its back to the viewer a newt also wearing a long military style coat, in the background on the right is a large tortoise. Frog is shown with knife and fork in its front legs over some sketchily defined food on the table. All sketchily drawn, only frog and newt and parts of their chairs in ink. Surrounded by pencil oval. Grasshopper drawn very faintly outside of oval.

Object history
Drawn by Beatrix Potter probably in 1906. Acquired by the V&A from Leslie Linder (1904-1973) in 1973 as part of the Linder Bequest, a collection of ca. 2150 watercolours, drawings, literary manuscripts, correspondence, books, photographs, and other memorabilia associated with Beatrix Potter and her family.
