Physical description

Drawing in pencil and pen and ink of a frog sitting on a water lily pad and casting a rod to the right of the picture. Head is facing towards the water. Basket behind frog on the lily pad. Three fish drawn underneath the water heading to the end of the rod. Reeds behind. All loosely sketched, the frog and lily pad only in ink.

Object history note

Drawn by Beatrix Potter, probably in 1906. Acquired by the V&A from Leslie Linder (1904-1973) in 1973 as part of the Linder Bequest, a collection of ca. 2150 watercolours, drawings, literary manuscripts, correspondence, books, photographs, and other memorabilia associated with Beatrix Potter and her family.
