Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Psychedelic poster advertising a concert for Big Brother and the Holding Company. A drawing of the head and shoulders of a man within a highly decorative scheme features as the main design of the poster. The decorative scheme displays illusions to Gothic and Victorian style, while the man wears a skull cap and an Elizabethan-like high collar. He has an eight-pointed star at his temple, and his beard is plaited or twisted into six strands. He stares ahead at the viewer, and his collar bears the details for the concert in bright orange, highly stylised letters. The poster text reads, 'Bill Graham Presents in San Francisco, May 26-27, Big Brother and the Holding Co., Steve Miller Blues Band, at the Fillmore'. The poster is printed in pale gold, purple and fluorescent orange.
