The poster features a four-piece band playing brass instruments and a drum, and with a black cat and a yellow duck, in a desert-like landscape. This central image is framed by the name of the artist, 'Van Morrison', and closely grouped red roses, while other motifs such as light bulbs also appear. The whole design sits within a black frame with the promoter's and other bands' details and the rest of the space at the bottom of the poster is filled with event details. The lettering reads, 'Bill Graham presents in San Francisco Van Morrison, Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band, The Terry Hahn Brotherhood, Thursday - Sunday October 8-9-10-11, Lights by Anathema #251 © Bill Graham Norman Orr'.
