These shoes were worn by Lady Mary Charteris, a model and DJ, for her wedding to Robbie Furze, musician and frontman of electronic rock duo the Big Pink, on 1st September 2012. The wedding was held at Charteris's family home, Stanway House, Gloucestershire. Their wedding was covered widely by both print and online media, as a result of both the famous guests in attendance and the bride's unconventional dress.

The shoes were designed by Nicholas Kirkwood, an established London shoe designer who trained at Central Saint Martins and Cordwainers' College and founded his own label in 2005. He won the Accessory Designer Award at the British Fashion Awards in 2010, 2012 and 2013.

Physical description
Pair of white silk satin and leather high heeled shoes designed by Nicholas Kirkwood, 2012. The shoes have a pointed up-turned toe, covered platform sole and narrow shaped heel. The upper is seamed over the front of the toe. The shoes have a sling back with a short length of covered elastic, and a strap over the instep which fastens with a decorative covered button and metal press stud. They have a two piece leather sock in light tan and cream which is inset with a narrow leather label, printed 'NICHOLAS KIRKWOOD' in silver lettering on cream. The polished leather sole is impressed, 'NICHOLAS KIRKWOOD/ VERO CUOIO/ MADE IN ITALY/ 37½'. The heel has a dark brown plastic heel piece. The bottom of heels has been stained with soil.
