Teapot
c.1875 (made)
Place of origin |
The miniature teapot, though probably not intended for use as such, displays many decorative techniques of cloisonné on ornamental pieces. The abstract decoration with geometric borders and floral patterns are typical of the types of cloisonné objects manufactured for the Western market. Cloisonné enamelled objects were exported in large numbers to the West and by the 1880s were highly sought.
