Sindy was manufactured by Pedigree a British toy firm in 1963. She was launched wearing one of the first of many outfits the Weekender outfit which consisted of, blue jeans, red, white and blue striped top, white tennis shoes and an red hairband. Unlike her rival Barbie she had an obtainable look of the girl next door. She was a instant hit with over 200,000 dolls sold by Christmas of that year.

Pair of pink Sindy gloves for a child, probably made in China in the 1990s
Physical description
Pair of pink gloves with a band of white around each wrist. The back of each glove has a large white S with two small white solid heart shapes. These are some sort of moulded soft plastic that have been stuck to the fabric. The wrists are elasticated.
