Chiltern was the trade name for H G Stone. The company made teddy bears, dolls and toys and was famous for its Hugmee range of bears, first made in the 1920s. Chiltern was taken over in 1967 by Chad Valley, another well known British toy company, and they continued to make bears under the joint name of Chiltern/Chad Valley.
